Luka is a 9-year-old, 66-pound Terrier mix. He's bursting with character and energy and literally jumps for joy and "talks" when it's time to go for a walk, his favorite activity in the whole world. His enthusiasm for his daily walk means he tends to pull a bit on leash and is overly eager to play with every dog he sees, but he's being trained to do better. We know he'll catch on because he's one smart cookie.
Luka is both house-trained and crate-trained, and he knows basic commands. You can even use hand signals (sit, stay, down, come) to get him to behave. He knows how to shake hands, too. Luka is a happy-go-lucky boy who would love to sit in your lap if you'd let him. Since he's a little big for that, belly rubs and head scratches will do just fine. Luka adores other dogs and would love to have one or two in his future family. We aren't sure what he thinks of cats.
He's being treated for thyroid issues that require one inexpensive pill a day, but otherwise he's very healthy for his age. The vet recently reduced his thyroid dosage, which we think will calm him down quite a bit.
Luka has been a loved dog his whole life. His original guardian passed away, and he was rehomed with another person who loves him dearly. Sadly, she is now ill and cannot continue to care for him. We hope to find him a third and final loving home to live out his golden years.
