Hi there! My name is Lukas and I was found as a stray in Elizabeth, NJ. When I was at the pound waiting for my "owner" to reclaim me, I was scared out of my mind and could barely function. I was so freaked out that when the nice animal control officer tested me with a small dog and cat, I hid behind her legs hoping this nightmare would go away. My luck soon changed when my foster mommy saw a picture of me on Facebook and asked Eleventh Hour Rescue to save me.
Because I was found as a stray, my previous life is a mystery to all the new people in my life now. I wish I could tell foster mommy what kind of a life I had before I met her but alas I'm not well-versed in human speech. I know I'm housetrained, crate-trained, and even though my leash manners are a work in progress, I'm learning not to pull with the help of a head halter.
I love my feline foster siblings and love to hangout with them because they don't scare me like dogs do. The nice veterinarian who gave me a check-up said I was probably kept caged up (my paws show signs of prolonged confinement) and hardly ever got to socialize with people or dogs...no wonder I'm silly! Foster mommy says since I'm a dog in a cat suit and I love kitties so much, a home with just felines would be my best kind of home. I love people too, but again I'm just too eager to say hello all over you so I should always be asked to meet people calmly.
Would you give me a chance and ask to meet me in person? I have a lot of love to offer (I love giving belly for rubs!) and I am good with older children. Please give me a chance to show you what a good boy I can be! Just fill out an application and be sure to mention my name - LUKAS!
