My name is Luna, and I was rescued from the Harris County Shelter. My owner's dropped me off because they no longer wanted me. My foster mom can't understand why, because she says I'm SO SWEET! My previous owners left me outside and without heartworm preventative, so sadly I am heartworm positive. I had a slight cough that the vet thinks was heartworm related, but I received some antibiotics for heartworm treatment and my cough disappeared. They expect my heartworms to be completely gone within two years, and I will need to be on heartworm preventative for the rest of my life. I am crate and house trained, but I don't like to go in my crate very much. Being at Harris County was a very stressful experience, and I have some anxiety issues when I'm left alone in my crate. I am territorial with other canine friends, and I REALLY like to terrorize kitties! I will need to be the only four legged critter in my fur-ever home. I am food AND water aggressive with other dogs, but don't mind people - I just don't like to share! My foster mom calls me the cutest nicknames like hippo, meatball, and Lulu. I respond really well to Luna, and come when called. I'm learning basic commands, and will need a patient and dedicated family who is willing to continue my behavioral training. If you think I'd be a good fit for your family, please submit an adoption application!
The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is an additional $10.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
