Lydia comes from a very sad background and we feel so lucky and empowered to help her have a brighter future. She had some crappy owners who made her live outside chained up in very poor conditions, she was frequently attacked and impregnated by free roaming dogs (we believe this is why she isn't friendly towards most dogs) for 6 years. Sadly, they locked her in a wooden box in the back of a horse stall at a fairground and left her for dead. Even more sadly, this was probably the best thing that ever happened to her because it was her ticket out of that home and into the shelter, and then rescue!
Lydia is such a love despite being treated poorly her whole life. She loves people and we have gotten to see her settle in and turn into a happy, funny girl. When she wags her tails her whole body moves with it and she gets excited and wiggles around.
We are working on basic training with her. She is great in her crate, house trained, sits, and we are working on leash walking skills. She is food motivated and eager to please- the perfect student! She also rides well in the car, inside or outside of a crate.
