Mabel – Female – 9 years old – GRRALL #0555
Mabel is finally a Queen! It took Mabel almost no time to acclimate to her wonderful foster home, she adjusted very quickly to her new humans and routine. Mabel’s foster family says she is a very sweet girl who is eager to please. She certainly appreciates affection and especially a belly rub but is content napping near her canine foster sister. Mable loves toys and has taken a special interest in a plush blue elephant. Mable eats well but isn't driven by food so she doesn't beg during human meal time. Mabel can only take very short walks until her heartworm treatment is complete, but she does well on a leash. Mable was such a good girl during bath time and allowed her human to easily clean her ears and clip her nails. She responds best to hand commands. At bedtime Mable curls up on her bed and sleeps peacefully throughout the night. Mable is a happy girl with a tail that is always wagging.
Mabel was found as a stray, skinny, heartworm positive, not spayed, missing teeth, and appears to have had litter after litter of puppies, then dumped. Mabel is a super sweet adorable angel and no matter how she was neglected, she is still just a happy golden retriever, good people and good food and a few toys, and life is grand. Our little girl has quite a long road ahead of her until she is healthy enough to be adopted, but she needs good thoughts and love sent her way, along with donations to help her and all the others like her that require extensive vet care. We are thrilled to be able to help Mabel and so grateful to have foster families and volunteers to be able to save dogs like Mabel.
