Maggie had been living outside but she had managed to find some people to feed her. When those people moved, they were not able to take Maggie with them and Maggie was left behind. Maggie wondered up to me and was happy to let me pet her when I got her a can of food. I brought her into my home and put up posters. Her former caretakers saw the posters which is how I learned of her history. They said they wanted us to find a new home for Maggie where she can live inside which is something they cannot provide for her.
Maggie is a little shy but likes to be petted. She will sit on someone's lap for a short amount of time. She has been warming up to us more the longer we have her so I bet she will get even more friendly. She does well with other pets - dogs and cats; and she would be good with kids. At the vet, she is a PURRfect patient - she lets them do whatever they need to without a struggle.
