Maggie was dumped out in East Texas on a country road. She was scared and had no idea what was going on. A rancher family found her and took her in but she had fallen into a deep hole and her front leg was broken in several places. They contacted several rescues and considered taking her to the shelter but knew the outcome was not good for her there. It took several weeks to find a rescue to take her in still just wandering with a broken leg. When we found out about her we immediately had the finder drop her off at our vet and radiographs were taken and it was discovered that she has 4 major fractures in her elbow area that will require plates and screws to surgically fuse her joint. Aside from her injured leg she remains incredibly sweet, submissive and loving. She wants to badly to be in your lap and giving you kisses. Her surgery was successful and she is now in rehab learning how to use her leg. Maggie has never been an inside dog so she is slow to learn potty training but is making lots of progress with a strict routine and positive reward training. She is learning on dog appropriate toys to chew on and loves her antlers.
