***Magoo is a courtesy post and is not with Almost Home, but contact us and we'll put you in touch with his family.
Magoo is in need of a new home due to a new baby in the family and his family's long work hours. He is a 9 1/2 year old pit mix who is a sweetheart and excellent with adults, children and other dogs. He has lived with other dogs and cats before. Loves to play with other dogs. Best with cats with attitude as he leaves them alone and is less curious. He's caught a squirrel and a bird before but then immediately got scared and let them go. He's never hurt anything, just loves to play like a puppy.
He's terrified of loud loud noise, like thunderstorms, fireworks and demolition. Once by your side (not by himself... any human will do!), he completely relaxes.
A 9 yr old pup isn't normally what people want but he's sweet and we 'd love to see him with a family or a single person who has the time for him as well.. He is well taken care of, vet records, goes to groomer. Cannot be crated or shut in a room as he gets very frightening when confined but is fine loose in the house. . He is on meds every 3 days (steriod) for masculatory muscle myositis but it's inexpensive - about $5-10 a month.
He's about 60-65 lbs and in good health.
Please stop by an upcoming Meet & Greet to find out if Magoo is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster.
We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the "Invisible Fencing Systems" link).
We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees.
