This sweet mother and son combo is so cute! Mama Gia was rescued after she was found giving birth in someone's yard. They took her inside to let her continue her delivery in a safe place, but sadly, 2 of her 3 kittens passed away. We think she delivered too early, as the surviving kitten was tiny! Giuseppe only weighed 1.5 ounces at 2 days old when we took him and his mama in to foster care. Normal kitten birth weight is 3-5 ounces.
Gia is a sweet, gentle kitty. She loves to be held and to sit in a lap. She is very calm and relaxed. She likes to play, but isn't too wild. Mostly, she likes to lay in a sunny spot and cuddle with her baby. She loves to eat! She likes treats, wet food, dry food, any food! She purrs all the time and is very happy-go-lucky. She will do well in most homes. She is good with other cats, and good with kids. She hasn't been around dogs much, but is learning to get used to them in her foster home. Gia is about 1-2 years old.
Giuseppe is such a cutie! He is now up to normal weight and is developing normally. He purrs and snuggles and likes to be petted! He adores his mama! At the moment, he is only 2 weeks old and he doesn't do much as far as playing, but he does have an unusually sweet personality for a baby so young! We expect him to be very happy and playful, just like his mama! Giuseppe was born 8/7/16.
Giuseppe and Gia are doing great in their foster home. They will be available to be adopted at the end of September, when Giuseppe is 8 weeks old. We are looking for a home for them together. The adoption fee for the two of them is $160. Their adoption fee includes their vaccines, spay and neuter, and Gia's testing for FIV/FeLV. Gia has already been tested and was negative for both. Gia will be spayed prior to going home, and Giuseppe will be neutered by our rescue when he is big enough.
These sweeties are not currently ready to go home with a new family, but will be ready around the end of September, and we would love to have a home waiting for them. If you are interested in adopting these two, please complete an adoption application and pre-adoption questionnaire on kittycolony.com.
