A volunteer writes: Mami is so calm and collected in her kennel. As I talk to her while opening her door, she slowly gets up from her bed, tail faintly wagging, and her lovely almond shaped eyes all on me. Mami is leashed easily, and off we go for a walk around the block. She pulls on the leash and does her business as soon as we hit the street. A mob of pigeons and minnows feasting on dry bread are met uneventfully, as well as other pooches, big and small. Tethered on a wall for the pictures, Mami appears a little shy, one forefoot up, wondering maybe what I am up to. I give her a treat that she takes eagerly. We need to have good table manners, young lady! Mami is very responsive and a good listener. She took the next treats very politely. Mami is a very pretty dog. She wears a lovely dress, looks very healthy and trim despite the fact that she seems to have been a mom a number of times. Mami, owned since early puppyhood, is with us as her owner had no time for a pet anymore. Her curriculum vitae is excellent, though, and is described as very friendly, welcoming, playful and affectionate. She would be good with kids, cats and other dogs, housetrained and well behaved when left alone in the house. Mami is with us now and is ready to start a new page in her life...with you. Come and meet her at the Manhattan Care Center and take her home as your forever best friend.
