Marigold is a very special cat. A local rescue took her in along with her 4 tiny kittens. Marigold deserves to be crowned "Cat Mother of the Year." She nursed her own four kittens, through the stress of being moved here and there, poked and prodded by a vet. That's quite a bit of stress for a cat but Marigold steadily nursed her four kittens until it was time to wean them. Over the next few months, Marigold accepted a variety of orphan kittens from different litters. She nursed them all. She is the most devoted of mother cats. All of the kittens, hers and orphans, have been adopted except for tiny Junebug, the last little orphan. and Marigold herself.
They have been together since Junebug was about two weeks old. Marigold is healthy and ready to find a home where she will be safe and loved forever. She deserves a great home. Junebug, on the other hand, has some physical issues. She is cross-eyed, but that doesn't bother her at all. She has a heart murmur. Her femoral head is broken off, that's the large end of the leg bone. It hasn't slowed her down yet. She has less range of motion and the muscle in that leg has atrophied a bit. The options are to amputate the leg or surgically put a plate in the leg. Both are good options.
We would love for Junebug and Marigold to find a home together but realize that isn't always possible. If adopted together, the adoption fee is negotiable. Open your heart and home to these sweet, precious creatures. You'll be giving a special needs kitten a home and honoring a very special mother cat. In return, you will enjoy years of love and feline affection.
Marigold has been spayed, like all good cats, and is ready to bring you joy.
