Mia is an adorable 7-month-old Pit / Lab mix who was just rescued from a high-kill shelter in California and is now safe in her Seattle area foster home! This sweet, even-tempered girl is friendly towards every dog and human she meets - she could soak up (and give) affection all day! While she is still in need of basic training, she is intelligent, eager-to-please and treat-motivated, which should fast-track her training. Mia has exhibited friendliness / curiosity towards cats - but no aggression - and responds well to kitty "warning signs". Her friendliness extends towards children as well, but she needs help learning not to jump up on, and accidentally knock over, toddlers.
Foster Update: She just wants to crawl into your arms. It's hard to resist her cuteness and keep refreshing the "off" command when she is just craving love. She gets cuddles after "off" but this will be something that needs ongoing training. She is sleek black, almost blue -- just beautiful. She has delicate features and tiny feet and wags her tail constantly. ZERO issues with the cats. She even took a nap with one. She has had only two accidents in the house but she goes out often. She is super smart and good with taking treats. She knows sit. She does like to chew on her dog bed so she will need time and guidance. She kennels at night and can go the whole night without needing to go out. She has toys/chews and will play with them if she's bored in the kennel.
Adoption Info: Fee of $550 includes pull from shelter, spay/neuter, Rabies/DPPV/Bordetella vaccinations, heart worm testing, microchipping, health certificate, boarding, transport from California to Seattle, and any other unforeseen costs/treatment. This adoption fee not only contributes to Mia's rescue and care, but of hundreds of other high-risk dogs every year.
