Mattie is the Perfect Puppy!
She's already house trained, crate trained and walks on a leash. She's good with adults, kids, cats and other dogs of all ages and sizes. She's friendly, playful, affectionate, even-tempered and gentle. She appears to be a Labrador Retriever/Hound mix about 6 and a half months old. As with all our dogs and especially puppies, we strongly recommend attending obedience classes because it not only helps you teach your dog commands, provides an opportunity for socialization and confidence building, but it aids in building that all-important bond between a pup and her human family. And of course being the Perfect Puppy, Mattie already knows "sit" and would love to show you how smart she is by learning more! A well-mannered, obedient dog is sure to be welcomed most anywhere she goes with you! A fenced yard would be ideal for Mattie to romp and play in safely - and to perfect her game of fetch - but if this isn't an option, lots of daily walks and opportunities for off-leash play at a dog park will help her get the exercise she needs to grow up happy and healthy. Dogs of all ages also need mental stimulation to keep them happy, especially one with hound in her. Those noses never rest and nose work just might be her thing. Mattie has attached strongly to her foster and doesn't want to share her, but she isn't at all aggressive about it. She's a great dog with a good personality!
Mattie, her siblings and her mom were all dumped in a rural area and some kind people brought them all to a local southern rescue. Mattie would absolutely love to be your Perfect Puppy so fill out an application for her today! Puppy kisses and furry snuggles are perfection on a cold winter's night!

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
