Hello my name is Max, and although some might describe me as a bit of a stubborn gentleman, they soon realize my outstanding qualities; I am unique, independent, self-confident, easily contented, carefree…and I am a tri-pawd! I turn heads no matter where I go, and love when people rub my belly which makes me scratch my tickle spot. They also like to hold my rather large head in their hands and tell me how cute I am. I have been invited to schools for Stress Relief Days and other public events and it is my favourite thing to do.
I love people, kids, dogs, treats, exploring, and a comfy bed. Did I mention car rides? I love them too! You can easily take me any place you are going but sometimes you may have trouble getting me out of the car. That’s where my stubborn streak can show up! Being a Tri-pawd with a large stature, I usually have a harder time walking distances than I do running them but I am also very strong. This is sometimes where my stubbornness shows up again as I may just stop and lay down. My foster mom just sits with me and waits until I am ready to go again. Sometimes she actually calls for a car ride home. For real!
I am living with a 9 year old boy right now who knows to be gentle, loving and understands my size and limitations. Younger children may not understand enough about this, and I wouldn’t want to bowl them over by mistake. I also live with multiple other dogs and kitties whom I get along with very well. I especially love the other dogs in my foster home and would be very happy in a forever home that has another dog. I love to chase after a ball and will run after anything you throw. I also love water and fancy myself as quite a swimmer!
I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and have received de-worming medication and Revolution. I would love to be a part of a family that will accept me for who I am and that will provide me with the opportunities of socialization, love, and commitment using positive support.
