Hello, my name is Maximus and I am so happy to be in a cozy, loving foster home! I would be forever grateful if you wonderful, boxer adoring people could be on the lookout for a family--a forever family of my very own. I am a little bit shy but with the support and love of good people I can shine bright! I have learned so much already.

When I first got here I was unsure of so many things--getting in the car, walking up to front door, getting in the tub-- silly things like that. However, now I can do these things and many more that used to be a bit scary for me. I just need my new family to be the leader because that helps me feel secure and more confident every day! If you help me get in the truck I have discovered I really like to go for rides. I lie down and enjoy the view. I don’t mind the bath, it’s the getting in the tub, but like I said I’m working on it. We go for lots of short walks on the property, sometimes just me or sometimes we take the other 3 boxers. Either way I like to see and explore the neighborhood. There is a working rock quarry across the road and the dump trucks would worry me a bit but the more I see them the less they concern me. I have been told I am really good while walking on a leash too! I don’t mind being out in the Oregon rain while we are walking. It is refreshing. Funny thing about me is sometimes I find the tallest grass and burrow my head in it all the way to the ground…good thing I am not allergic to grass!

The other boxers I am staying with are all smaller than me. Clearly I need to work on shedding a few pounds even though I swear I am just big boned. My foster mom thinks someone used to feed me people food a lot because I stare at them when it is meal time. I don’t know what she is talking about-- my feet are on the floor, so I am behaving, right?! She has said that I do really well while the meals are being prepared, I like to be close so I lay on the doggie bed by the kitchen. I am also just starting to feel comfortable enough to show interest in toys. The ball is my favorite so far. I don’t really play with the other dogs yet they are ok but not real fond of that young boy boxer and I can’t say exactly why he seems nice enough. Maybe with time he will grow on me. I like to have my paw held while we sit together even if I am on the floor. I know high five, sit, and lay down, working on off and a few other things. I am smart and willing to learn…. especially with treats. Yum yum!

If you think we would be a great team, please fill out the adoption form at nwboxerrescue.org/#!adoption-form/c1dw9. I will keep up my learning while you fill out the papers. Ok? Done yet? I am so excited!!! Come get me! I am ready to start the adventures!
