Ready to Start a New Life
Michelangelo, or "Mikey", as we call him, is jut out of kittenhood. He's friendly and has a wonderful personality. He's also a very funny little guy. He was born at KittyCorner when her mom was brought here, and she gave birth the next day. Mikye's litter of five were all adopted, but he was left behind because he tested possitive for FI V. Experts tell us that there is no need to separate these cats from others and that many lead normal lives with normal lifespans. FIV can be passed oinly through mting (he is neutered, of course0 OR VERY DEEP BITE WOUNDS--AND HE'S SUCH A CHEERFUL, FRIENDLY LITTLE SOUL THAT WE CAN'T IMMAGINE HIM FIGHTING WITH ANOTHER CAT. In fact, Mikey has never gotten sick while in our care, and there is no expectation that he will.
He will stay with us until he is adopted, of course, but he wants a home where he can be special to someone--be a part of a family. We can't blame people fpor not wanting to adopot a cat with a chronic illness, though there aren't any symptoms. It's just that he's such a good, goofy little guy that it's really sad that everyone is afraid to adopt him and expoerience the joy he will bring..
He loves other cats and gets along well with them, but anyone who is worried about anothe cat "catching" the FIV from him could keep him as an "only" cat, and he will adjust to that
Are you the family Mikey has been waiting for? It's not his fault that he was born with FIV. .Please call us to meet him/her! Call Kitty Corner at 315-457-4420 or fill out our adoption application at www.kittycorner.org to meet our adoptable cats and adopt a new member of your family.
