Mindy came to us from horrid conditions not suitable for a human to live in let alone a dog. She was living outside in a deplorable, filthy yard. When SoCo received the call to go out to the house we found her wandering around the yard aimlessly looking for food but mostly just finding garbage. We knew she couldn't stay there and we didn't have room at the rescue at the time to get her in. But SoCo vowed to get her out of there as soon as possible. Within a few week's time we got Mindy out of there and gave her a safe place to live. Mindy is just adorable to look at and she is a smart girl. She caught onto the routine of the rescue rather quickly. She has a laid back demeanor and she is very loving. Mindy gets along well with both people and other dogs and she would make a great addition to a loving family.
On a recent vet visit Mindy was diagnosed with heart worms. We are treating her with the slow-kill method in which the existing heart worms die off in time and no new heart worms are formed. The slow-kill method is a lesser evasive treatment than other methods used. Once adopted, Mindy will need to be kept on a monthly heart worm preventative. Other than her heart worm status Mindy seems to be in good health. She is current on all her vaccinations and she is spayed. Though Mindy is a bright girl she will need some house training as she's never lived in a home before. If interested in this sweet girl, please submit an application to www.socorescue.com.
