Mokka is ready to find his new best friend. It's believed he had a really hard time before he ended up in his foster mom's arms, where he learned about human love and trust for the first time. Mokka was absolutely terrified and would scream in anticipated pain if you were trying to touch him, proof that he was abused over and over for a long time. Pretty quickly, he formed a strong bound with his foster mom but after 7 months in his foster home he is still skittish around the other members of the family and strangers. Mokka is house trained and very sweet. He is good with dogs and cats. He is looking for a really special adopter who will have the patience and love to make him trust again. The bond he has developed with his foster mom is extraordinary but we know it will happen again with someone willing to love and cherish him forever. Someone who will give him a lifetime of happiness and make him forget this past life of abuse and neglect.
Mokka is currently in a foster home and not at the shelter. To find out if this pet is still available for adoption, please email jpasfosterEB@gmail.com.
The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter adoption fee is $67. Fee includes at least one round of vaccinations, mandatory spay/neuter surgery, heartworm test, and microchip.
