Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)
Momo is a Chocolate Chi, is all of 5y and 11lbs We know he is good w/ children and other dogs and would probably be best w/ another doggy friend in his home. (his friend was adopted out)
In meantime, here are his notes: The owner surrendered them because the owner was evicted from his home. Socialization: Around strangers both Precious and Momo are friendly playful. they have not lived with children but they are relaxed and playful around children and adults they do not know. Precious and Momo have lived together all of their lives and get along with each other but them sometimes bark and other dogs they do not know. Precious and Momo have never bitten anyone.
Behavior: The owner states that Precious and Momo are not bothered when some moves their food or treats while they are eating, when someone takes their toys away or when someone disturbs them while sleeping. Precious and Momo like to be brushed and given bathes but has never had their nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or their home they approach them in a friendly manner.
Momo is fearful of the shelter environment he walks with a low and fearful body language. He was fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment. Momo had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. He was not interested in toys
Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor's hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, shy body language, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1. No interest. When introduced off leash to other dogs in the care center, Momo offers polite greeting, then wanders the yard.

Please go to our site http://zanisfurryfriends.org
fill out an application and return to email@example.com
Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on on Sundays and sometimes on Saturdays--please ask by writing us at firstname.lastname@example.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.
Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate!
If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us email@example.com closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet. It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Sundays usually and some Saturdays. Follow us on FB for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: firstname.lastname@example.org For Dogs: email@example.com For Rabbits: firstname.lastname@example.org.
