Monsieur Pierre is a 12-year-old, 45-pound Tibetan Terrier mix. A charming older gentleman, Pierre is a tail-wagging machine who wants nothing more than to hang with his people. Though he's mostly deaf and has some vision and mobility issues, he still has a strong, loving spirit and happy disposition. He's not much interested in meeting other dogs -he tends to ignore them - but he loves meeting people. Based on his sweet personality, it's possible he would do well with gentle children or kitties in his future family.
He enjoys going on slow walks around the neighborhood and can do up to a mile at a time, twice a day. As long as you don't mind giving him a little boost, he's happy to go for a ride in the car, too. He's house-trained and sleeps quietly in his dog bed through the night without asking to go out. Though he has trouble with stairs, he can handle a few at a time. Pierre has a minor heart murmur and some level of valve disease, but these issues don't require medication or affect his sweet personality.
Monsieur Pierre has prostate cancer and is being treated with anti-inflammatories. He is incontinent, as a result, but does well with a male belly band wrap.
He came to us from Haven Humane Society in Northern California. Senior dogs have a more difficult time getting adopted, even wonderful pooches like Pierre, and he was being moved to the euthanasia list. One of our generous donors offered to sponsor his care, and he is now a POMDR dog. This is Monsieur Pierre's second chance at a happy life, and he can't wait to meet you.
