Our tiny Monty is quite a survivor. He was found living at a very busy gas station just off of a major highway. There were people constantly throwing him scraps of food, but his surroundings were incredibly dangerous for any dog, much less one his size. Monty is an 8 pound, Miniature Pinscher and Chihuahua mix and about 1 ½ years old. He may be tiny in size, but his personality is big and wonderful!
While living at the gas station, he was untrusting and would not allow anyone to get close enough to help him. The staff was very concerned, but didn’t know how to help him other than feed him. One of our experienced volunteers saw him cross a very busy road and decided she wasn’t leaving without him. With a handful of ribs, a leash, a prayer and lots of time, he was caught and the beginning of his new life started.
The first whole week that he was part of the Duck Team 6 family, he finally felt safe and just rested. He proved to us that he is the friendliest and most adaptable little guy who loves to cuddle, sit in your lap, sun on the deck and just be by his people. He is a mellow boy, but does enjoy romping around the backyard and chasing squirrels and bugs.
Monty is current on all of his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and eager to meet his forever family. He’s very much a loyal dog and hopes to find a family that is home more than away so he can have company. He loves people, gets along well with all other dogs and even did very well with his toddler friend. He is crate and house trained and ready to roll out of his foster’s home and into the heart of his new family.
