Let''s hug it out! Okay I may be a bit shy at first, buts hugs ARE welcomed. I may even like hugs more than toys! It''s so comfy here at Peggy Adams, I may need a little coaxing for me to come out and greet you. Once we meet you''ll see how friendly I am. Just a little scratch on my head and that should do it. I''ll probably even rub up against your hand too. And if you pass my sniff test, then that''s a great sign. Get ready for heads butts and maybe even more hugs! You''ll see, you''ll look deep into my eyes and never want to let me go!
I have tested positive for FIV. Feline Immuno-deficiency is a slow virus that affects a cat''s immune system over a period of years. It''s not contagious to humans or dogs, and isn''t easily passed between cats. The virus is passed by blood transfusion or bite wounds. Current snap test results can be unreliable and result in false positives, so it''s best to do a confirmatory western blot test at 6 months of age. FIV positive cats can lead long, healthy, happy lives with a life expectancy of about 10 years. If you are interested in adopting me or learning more about FIV, please speak with an Adoption Coordinator.
