You kind of have to meet Moosette in person to understand just how stinkin' adorable she is, but we'll do our best to convey it here. At around 5 years old and 60 lbs this low-rider is the cutest mini-hippo ever. In addition to her good looks, Moosie is also a friendly girl who enjoys going on walks, snuggling, and being perfectly house/crate trained even while her foster parents are at work for a full day.
Moosette is is perfectly fine passing other dogs on walks and even hangs out with her neighbors pups from time to time but will likely thrive most as the only pooch in her forever home. Sometimes Moosie is a little tentative with new people--just seems to depend on the person--so though we know she'll love and bond wonderfully with her forever family, she'll thrive most in an adult home.
When Moosie first joined the rescue she had terrible chronic ear infections and ultimately her veterinarian and surgeon decided ear canal ablation surgery would be in her best interest. So far she has had surgery for one ear and is feeling so much happier and less painful! She'll be receiving her second surgery in May but can certainly meet potential adopters in the interim.
This snorty gal is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Her adoption has been sponsored by one of her biggest fans, and you can access our application here: http://www.onetail.org/adoption/apply/
I have been in the market for a dog for the past 2 years and stumbled across Mr. Filbert several months ago on a separate pet search engine. Once Petcha launched, he was one of the first dogs that populated my screen. I quickly applied for him and was immediately contacted by Adrienne. The process could not have gone smoother from that point on. Adrienne immediately sent me an email and copied in Filbert's then-foster mom and we arranged a time for them both to come to my apartment. As soon as I met the curly canine, I fell in love. We played fetch for a few hours and his wonderful foster mom, Erica, took Filbert back to her place. I picked him up at Erica's home a few days later with the "foster to adopt" program and knew there was no way I couldn't keep the little guy. Benji (formerly known as Filbert) is my best friend and has grown tremendously the past few weeks. He was very timid towards new people, especially men, but with exposure and professional training, my little Benji has become quite the (well-behaved) stud on the block. I cannot thank Adrienne, Erica, and the OTAT people enough for bringing this little bundle of joy into my life! You guys took great care of Filbert/Benji and he is the perfect pet.
