When this stray entered my life in November 2014, he sauntered into the house, looked at me briefly and then proceeded to go up the stairs, stop at the landing and strike a regal pose as he surveyed his new kingdom. So, of course his new name became Mufasa for both his bearing and large, tawny appearance. Mufusa is a loving cat who enjoys sleeping on your chest, being stroked, and playing with toys, strings, shoelaces and wiggling fingers, though he’s careful to keep his claws retracted when fingers are involved. He purrs easily and often and enjoys head-butting his humans. And wonder of wonders, he allows his nails to be clipped with only a little grousing. Mufasa will say good morning, afternoon, evening, night and anything in between. He enjoys verbal bantering and isn’t shy about expressing his desire to go outside. In another life, he must have been Houdini, as he has managed to slip out of 8 harnesses when taken outside, so he really needs either a fenced yard or a quiet neighborhood where he can safely roam. Mufasa has bright gold eyes, has all his shots, and is neutered. He has also been chipped, so his new human can change the information on his home when he’s adopted. He is well trained to use the litter box and has never had an accident, so if you want an affectionate lion who will talk and purr his way into your heart, Mufasa is a great choice so long as you can let him outside when he wants to explore.
