Munchie is a 16-year-old, 7-pound Shih Tzu. This sweet senior is a gem - though her eyesight and hearing are gone, her laid-back spirit remains intact. She can be nervous in new situations, but she gets a lot of comfort from your loving lap to sit in and a warm blanket to cuddle in. Once she's a little more confident, she's ready to slowly explore her surroundings, step by careful step.
She's content to spend her time relaxing at home with you nearby. You won't hear a peep from her until she needs to go out or is ready to eat. Munchie is learning to use a pad inside when her person has to be gone for a few hours. She isn't one for going on walks, but she does enjoy the occasional ride in the car and quietly sits in a doggie seat for the duration.
Munchie doesn't play with other dogs, but she happily coexists with them. She has experience being around kids and would probably be okay with very gentle, older children in her family. She can no longer navigate stairs, so a home without them would be best.
Due to her loss of vision and hearing, Munchie is dependent on her person to protect her from the world. She requires the application of eye ointment twice a day, and she makes it easy on you to do so. She's sweet and trusting, so it's a joy to watch over this diminutive little lady.
Munchie's previous guardian was living in her car and decided Munchie deserved a better life than she could provide. We're so pleased to be able to offer Munchie this second chance in her twilight years.
