Dog's Name: Nancy
Estimated Breed : Collie Mix
Approximate Age: 7 yrs
Approximate Weight: 50 lbs
Currently Living at: Loving foster home!
Adoption Fee: $375
Nancy has a bit of at tragic story. Her owner died and Nancy and 3 of her friends, Cochran, Johnny & Grace were found laying next to her when the authorities arrived. They were understandably scared and nervous but let the deputies remove them from the home. In addition to all that, this lovely lady is heartworm positive, but not to worry, K-9 will take care of the treatment and she'll be good as new in no time! Nancy is very sweet and loving and we are hoping to find her a forever family soon, could it be you?
More on Nancy: Her tragic story has not dampened her personality. Nancy is very sweet, loving and active girl. She did really well with the cat too! Everyone Nancy meets loves her and she loves everyone. Whoever adopts Nancy is sure getting a gem.
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/?page_id=64 or email our Foster Coordinator at email@example.com
