All dogs with PUP are in private foster homes so we can provide our potential adopters the most current information available.
Health: Norrie has been spayed and microchipped. She is current on her DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. She has been wormed and flea treated, and tested negative for heartworm.
History: Norrie comes from an overcrowded shelter in California. PUP was asked to help and we are so glad we did. All dogs PUP pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state.
Notes from Norrie's Foster Home:
Norrie is a great little tan Dachshund mix with beautiful brown eyes that are very expressive and almost talk to us. Norrie is all sweetness and love.
Norrie is definitely a people person. She knows already she is part of our life at this time, and she fits in beautifully. She has that balanced quality of just the right amount of mischevious play, cuddle time and mellow out time. She has caught on quickly to our routine, and so far seems totally house trained. She also does well in her crate both at night and when we are away. We give her a treat and she goes right in.
Norrie has already snagged some favorite toys – likes to play with the ball and a couple of soft squeaky toys. There is still some puppy in her as once in a while she will grab something that is not a toy, and I have to correct her, but she seems to catch on quickly. She gets along with our other dogs and plays and cuddles with them.
Norrie loves meal time and sometimes will bring her dish to me. She is such a sweet companion and has worked her way into our lives and our hearts. We want for her all the good things in life - - good food, a safe yard to play in, and a person or family that will love her and include her as a big part of their life.
It takes Norrie a little while to feel comfortable in a new situation and with new people. She will do best in a calm, consistent environment where she can depend on who will be in the house.
Note: The above description reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. Although PUP provides adopters up to the minute information on our dogs, we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners.
Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for this dog and you reside within Washington State, please go to our Adoption Information page. There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application.
