Ori has the magic of making everyone feel good and always brings a smile to their face! He has a special place in hearts of those that meet him. Not because of his mild case of feline cerebral palsy which affects his balance and physical movements making them a little more deliberate and clumsy - but because of his loving, gentle and sometimes silly personality.
Ori does have some specific needs – he cannot do stairs or high places, he sometimes is a little startled with sudden loud noises or movements, he needs be put to bed at night in a room. He has to put a little more energy into getting in and out of the litter box or across the room, but his coordination does not hinder him from getting around, eating, grooming, or playing with other kitties and toys. He knows his name and gets very excited when you call him, he meows back and comes to you. He loves to be picked up and carried, gets totally relaxed and after you set him down he may take a few seconds for his muscle coordination to catch up with his thinking. He does not know he has specific needs and does not let it diminish his desire to be himself or explore, jump, run, play with crinkle balls or toys with bells, catnip - but he sometimes needs you to come to him and pick him up and carry him so he can give you hugs and kisses, or sit and read with him, he loves watching TV, listening to music, looking out the window watching birds and enjoys afternoon naps. He does well with crinkle tunnels because they provide balance support AND crinkle - his favorite noise! He is very sweet and thinks everyone likes him, and gets along well with other kitties. His littermates look out for him, playing a little more gently. In return he likes to spoon with other kitties and groom them. He is a sweetheart like no other. If you have room in your heart for an adorable guy like Ori and one of his littermates, you will find time with him very rewarding! Ori is a black tuxedo Maine Coon mix. He was born 10 May 2016.
