Who can resist this sweet boy? Palmer came to us in pretty bad shape. We are not sure what happened but Palmer was found as a stray by animal services along with his three siblings. Animal Services suspected that the puppies had been dumped. Palmer's sibling were happy and healthy but Palmer could not walk and was deaf. Palmer's siblings were successfully adopted out by Animal Services but they needed help with this special needs puppy. They reached out to us and we just couldn't say no to his cute face and sweet demeanor.
Our vet could not find any reason why Palmer should not be able to walk. A few days after Palmer's arrival, with a bit of help, he was standing on all fours. He was a bit clumsy in the beginning but was able to get himself around. Within a few weeks he was running and playing with other dogs. Palmer just needed a bit of love and attention.
Palmer adores other dogs and would be best suited for a home that already has another dog. He is a bit shy of strangers but does warm up quickly with the proper introduction. Having another dog with him gives him confidence. Palmer is very energetic and would do best with a dog with a similar energy level.
Palmer is a little more difficult than most dogs to train due to his inability to hear. There are different methods of training for dogs with this type of disability. Palmer has learned some hand commands and is very attentive of his people. He will definitely make someone a fantastic dog if you are willing to put the effort in to him.
