***Come meet Parker and other, great adoptable dogs this Sun. (Oct. 16) from 12 – 2 PM at the Petco in Georgetown (12960 Middlebrook Rd., Germantown, MD 20874)***
PARKER is looking for a furever home!
Name: Parker Breed: Beagle/Shepherd Mix
Approximate Age: 5 months SEX: M ALE
Approximate Weight: 34 lbs as of 9/25
Has Lived With: DOGS and CATS
Currently Living at: Foster!
Special adoption considerations: young puppy, frequent potty breaks and socialization needed, commitment to spay by 6 months, additional vaccinations needed.
Hello humans, I'm Parker and I like to WIGGLE WIGGLE! I am an adorable beagle/shepherd mix...My sister and I are excited to come to the DC area to find our furever homes!
I love to play with my sibling and have lots of puppy wrestle sessions!
I want to spend these spring and summer days rompin' around the yard smellin' the pretty flowers. Maybe we could even go swimming...I would sure love to try to learn how to doggy paddle! My dream would be long walks, doggy parks, peanut butter kongs and a warm bed to call all mine.
Since I am so young, I am a blank slate ready to be trained and molded into your perfect pup! I will probably be good with kids and cats since I am just a puppy but I have never lived with them officially so if you have a feline friend my lucky dog friends can test me out!
I'm just a little guy so I'll need lot's of looking after. I'm sorry to say that if you work 9-5 away from home you aren't a good fit for me unless you can show documentation of a multiple times a day dog walker.
Parker is not old enough to have had all of his vaccines. It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, he is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day.
Due to his young age, Parker has not yet been neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 10/1/16.
Like most puppies, Parker will need to work on his housetraining. Parker will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Megan at!
