Patsy

Pit Bull Terrier

Medium  |  Female

Austin, TX

Patsy is a survivor who's determined to not let misfortune keep her from enjoying her new start in life.
Now in foster care, Patsy wants it known that she loves cuddles with her new human friends, just asking to be near them to get all the lovin'. Then she's ready to get those belly rubs and snooze on her back, preferably next to her person.
Patsy came to the shelter with a uterine infection and intestinal ruptures requiring major surgery. Plus, she has hip dislocations that limit her to short walks and occasional zoomies in the yard and that require joint supplements. She does walk well on her leash. If you drop her leash, she'll pick it back up and hand it to you. She's working on minding her manners when passing other dogs in the neighborhood. She is crate trained and seems house trained, and would prefer to be the only dog in her forever home.
Because her surgery removed a length of intestine, she cannot be allowed to have toys or any objects that she might chew and swallow.
Patsy will do best in an adult-only home, or one with older kids. She's a sweet, snuggly and loving girl who just needs a little extra care and supervision. She promises to return the care with abundant love and loyalty.
And remember, all APA adoptions come with free behavior assistance through APA's behavior team. And when you adopt a dog from APA, you are saving not one, but two lives - the life of the dog you're bringing into your home, and the next dog APA can save in the adopted dog's place.
