Peaches came into the OOTW program during the summer of 2016. This poor foxhound was found near Arkadelphia and was starving to death. She was covered in ticks and fleas and basically just worn completely out from wandering in search of food and someone to help her. She found that someone in Carolyn, an independent rescuer in the Clark County area. Carolyn took her in, got her cleaned up and then got in touch with OOTW. Due to the poor state she was in, OOTW moved Peaches to Little Rock so we could get her into the doctor and see what all we needed to do to help her get on the road to recovery quickly.
Peaches is now in foster care with Debbie and doing well. Once her weight was back to normal, Peaches was vetted and received her spay. She has also had her shots, rabies shot, been wormed and has a microchip. To no surprise, Peaches was found to have heartworms. OOTW will bear the cost of the slow-kill treatment and will pay to have her tested at the end of treatment to make sure she is negative.
Peaches is a PRECIOUS GIRL. We cannot say enough about her. She's an older dog, probably 8. She is very laid back and wants little more than a soft spot in a corner and a regular feeding. Peaches loves everyone, especially children who are kind to her. She does well with other dogs and is okay with the cat.
Peaches will make a great family pet and we are anxious to find her a home where she can get on with the rest of her life and never have to worry about survival again!
