There’s a simple secret to making Peanut happy. Just give her a bone and she will entertain herself for hours. At ten years old, she is still very energetic and playful. She likes to sit on shoulders, heads, arms, laps, just so she can be close. A bit of a Velcro dog.
Peanut is easily kenneled. She also eats in a kennel, but doesn’t seek out being in one unless food is involved. She can be rather possessive, especially where her aforementioned bones are concerned. She’ll growl and bare her teeth to protect them. This makes her a perfect candidate to be the only dog in the house. She’ll appreciate 100% of your attention anyway.
That growling and baring of teeth is also manifest when anyone outside of her foster mom tries to pet her. Bones aren’t the only things she wants to keep to herself. She has tried to nip at strangers simply trying to pet her. Which makes her not a child’s best friend. Adults only for Ms. Peanut.
Peanut likes the security of the fenced yard at her foster home, but a fence is not an absolute requirement. She likes to know where you are at all times. And she’ll happily spring to your lap the moment you sit down. There are days when she simply can’t be close enough, slamming her 8-pound body up against yours as tight as she can or draping herself over your chest just to make sure you know that you are hers.
In short, Peanut is a little angel with a hint of devil. No bones about it.
Peanut is a 10 year old Chihuahua who was surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. She bonded very quickly with her foster home and we expect her to bond quickly after adoption. She weighs 8 pounds.
Peanut is spayed, microchipped, negative for heartworm, and current on vaccinations.
