Pearl was taken to the city shelter with her brother and another cat. They had lived with a man who suddenly became very ill, and a friend brought them. Even though she was barely older than a kitten, she was very withdrawn at first, and it took her a while to accept affection once again. We believe it reflected her devotion to her person from whom she was separated. After we took her from the shelter, it was less than a week at PZF when she was making biscuits and pushing her head into loving hands. Her coat is an unusual smoke black tabby, and she is really stunning to look at. But beauty is not her only strength.
Just like in nature, this black Pearl is indeed a rarity. She's the perfect combination of beauty, gentility, and affection. In fact, pearls are known for their calming effect and this sweet girl certainly lives up to that claim. Although a bit reserved at first, Pearl is very affectionate and loves to be petted, whisker scratches included. She is a great lap cat, and will also roll over for belly rubs and to show you the white pearl she wears at her throat. She's a gentle player with a gentle soul. She would make a lucky someone a loyal companion.
