Pepper in LA - new!

Great Pyrenees

Large  |  Female

What if the world said “YES” to everything?

Pepper (a Pyr mix who is soooo much sweeter than “pepper”) says “yes” to just about everything. Even though she is still very much a puppy at 10 to 12 months old, she’s learned that “yes” is so much more fun than “no.” For example:

- Comfortable with other dogs, cats, kids, and people? YES!
- Laid back and chill in the house? YES!
- Loves attention and gives the Pyr paw to get more? YES!
- Takes her guardian duties seriously? YES!
- And still listens when you ask her to stop barking? YES!
- Eats well? YES! (and Magnolia sometimes likes food so much, she’ll nap beside her food bowl … with her head in it).
- Thinks that fresh dirt is God’s gift to her? YES!

Okay, so nobody is perfect (at first). Pepper is taking her leash training seriously and has made great improvement, but there’s room for more. But hey, she’s a puppy! The jury is still out on car trips according to Pepper, but that could also be just puppyhood. Motion sickness medication helped 100% on her last trip, and her foster mom reports some successful “slow n’ go” trips also.

Wouldn’t it be great if the rest of the world said “yes” more often? Think of the adventures we’d have. You could say “YES!” to Pepper right now, and start a great new adventure together.

About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes so we know how they will interact with your family. Please consider adopting or fostering. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. Prior to adoption, NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks (usually more), spayed or neutered and fully vetted. Dogs coming from out of area are certified with a USDA health certificate before going to their new homes. Our rescuers adhere to the highest placement standards and will take back any dog whose adoption does not succeed. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
