Perdita, who really goes by “Dita,” is a1yr old young lady who is about 50 pounds and is easily classified as a Busy Bee! She’s incredibly intelligent and has a curious, playful nature. She adores fetching, chasing and rolling around with a tennis ball. She also enjoys puzzles and doggie brain teasers. Dita has all of her basic obedience skills down cold: Sit, Down, Stay, Wait, Come (if you’re holding a tennis ball or treat), as well as a few tricks: Shake and Finish, and she’s learning to roll over! She also understands the word Out when you need some private time in the loo, the words Go Get It, when you want her to go get her ball, and Off, which means “off the couch,” “leave me alone” and “leave it”. She is very food-motivated and has the ability/potential to advance considerably in obedience and agility, as long as her new family is committed to help her practice these skills!
Dita is part Labrador Retriever and has mad skillz with a ball and a moderate-high prey drive (likes to chase squirrels and cats). She’s very athletic and would thrive in a home where her human(s) will be able to provide her with a lot of exercise and mental stimulation like running, hiking, walks in the park, possibly doggie daycare, and which has a fenced in yard. This summer, she learned to swim and is on her way to being a true water dog! Dita lives to be with her foster human and her foster brothers/sister (a Doberman and two pit-mixes). In fact, she loves other dogs so much that she must have at least one other canine sibling in her adoptive household. Dita wants to play with everyone and give endless kisses. She’s a kissing machine! Dita truly loves humans of all ages/sizes, but is too rambunctious for young children.
Dita is talented and amazing in so many ways! She has such fantastic potential and just needs someone to allow her to build confidence in herself and settle into her new home at her own pace. In return, you will have an utterly devoted companion for the rest of her life!
