All of our dogs are housed in private homes, we do not have a store or a shelter. We do not show dogs to interested parties until they have an approved adoption application. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.helpingshepherdsofeverycolor.com You may also find us on facebook: Helping Shepherds of Every Color Rescue.
Pickle is a small female German Shepherd. She found herself in a shelter in rough shape. She was emaciated, heartworm positive and had a major skin condition. Lucky for her some great people spotted her and contacted us. Pickle just completed heartworm treatment and we are getting to know her personality now. She is very active and she is obsessed with cats, and she is somewhat bossy and reactive to other dogs when they are in crates.
We will continue to evaluate her and work with her. She is very smart and seems to have had some training as she knows how to sit and she walks very well on a leash. Please check back for updates.
What we have learned so far is that Pickle does not like to be crated and gets somewhat stressed out in crates. She is not very destructive outside the crate so if you have the right situation for her, she may not need to be crated. Pickle is learning to get along with the other dogs, she is learning that they are not a threat to her so she calms down and allows them to approach her without snapping at them. She is obessed with cats and will chase them. Pickle is very calm outside the crate unless she is barking at one of the other dogs. She is still rough around the edges but becoming more polished every day. We are still trying to get her up to proper weight. Pickle will play with the small dog in her foster home now. She is very sweet and she wants to please, it is just taking time for her to figure things out.
