Wheaten Terrier

Medium  |  Male

Palo Alto, CA

Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted:

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

For those in search of the ultimate Pokemon look no further! Pokemon is a 1 year old Wheaten Terrier-Cockapoo mix who we rescued from the shelter with his buddy (brother?) Pikachu... who has already been adopted! Pokemon is a true medium-sized dog, weighing in at 38 lbs. He has a coat that won't require extensive grooming. It will be less shedding but not necessarily an option for someone who has true allergies.
Pokemon was a bit shy when he first arrived at his foster home, but has since begun to blossom. He adores the little boys who live there and is especially fond of Zeke, his canine foster brother who is a Great Pyrenees. Pokemon takes his cues from Zeke and is best suited to go to a home with another confident dog who he can learn from. He can be an option to go with big or little dogs. His foster has been working with him on leash training and house training and reports that he's doing quite well. He's a quiet sort of guy who just hangs out and likes being with his people and his canine foster brother.
He's not a nuisance barker. He could be an option to go to work with Mom or Dad if it was a laid back setting where he had a chance to adjust and acclimate. He may not be a meeter and greeter initially but if he had a buddy who was then he'd follow him/her!
Pokemon is an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 5 years. If there are children in the home, they need to be over the age of 7 and knock-over-proof: Pokemon's a sizable guy!

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
