Fur-evers!!!
Update from Foster Mom: Hey! I'm poppy! I am a very playful 1 yr old chiweenie that needs patience with my person . I had a rough start to life but I'm a very happy girl. Not a lap dog yet, but I can be with patience and love. Could you be the person to bring me to my full potential? I talk very cute to my Foster mom and love her lots! But still timid around people, but I love other dogs! Please take me home?
Original Post: My name is Mary Poppins, but you can call me Poppy! I'm a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious black and tan chi-weenie (you know, a dachshund and a chihuahua). I will be spayed soon and get caught up on all my shots and I'm about 11 months old.. I'm really just a baby.
Foster mom says I'm a "spoon full of sugar." I'm sweet, loving and shy. I came from a bad situation and although I had lots of fur-siblings to play with... I didn't really interact with those "two-legged creatures." I'm really more prone to hang out with my four-legged friends.
So I started spying on my foster mom, just to make sure she wasn't an alien. I mean, I was afraid she might stick me in an umbrella and shoot me into the sky. My sister Polly took to foster mom right away and showed me that that wasn't true. Here's why foster mom is great: She lets me sleep in the big bed. It's like sleeping on a cloud. So in a sense, I guess I wasn't wrong about her shooting me up into the sky... it's just a "sky" (bed) inside. Which is okay with me.
I'm a big thinker... I like to process things, which is why I'm so sensitive and sweet. In fact, foster mom is teaching me to use the doggy door. I'm really proud of mastering that skill. I'm pretty close to something that the two-leggers call "potty training."
I'm also great with other dogs, since they are already in my comfort zone! Which brings me to my favorite activity. Play! I love to play. It's so much fun. But I'm also learning something else. Love. It's so nice to be loved. Every time I let foster mom pet me, I get all warm and fuzzy inside. My sister Polly says it's the best that I should try sitting in foster mom's lap or snuggling next to her. I'm not quite there yet -- so I need a patient fur-ever family BUT day-by-day my heart grows fonder of the two-leggers.
Could you be the fur-ever that helps mold me into the perfect puppy, that will fill me with love and confidence and show me that snuggling is the best?
Being an only might help me settle in with you. And then maybe we can find me another fur-sibling later on, once I've bonded with you. That would be amazing! But if you already have another furbaby, I would have an instant playmate!
When foster mom says I'm ready I will attend an adoption event. If you want to know more about me complete an adoption application and mention my name so my foster mom can contact you. Also schedule your home safety check so you are pre-approved.
