Exceptionally shy and uncertain of her new surroundings, Raine is not at the top of her game. At best, she will chat up a storm in her kitty condo at PetSmart. She will roll over as she carries on quite a conversation with you and rub up against her cage door, really really wanting to be loved – but at the same time, this sweet girl has some pretty serious trust issues and is easily frightened by quick movement and loud noises. Although she appears to be intimidated by her current PetSmart roomies, Raine’s foster mom tells us that she thoroughly enjoyed the company of a kitten they were fostering at the same time. The two played really well together!
Raine is a prime example of a cat that does simply not show well at PetSmart – but in a home environment, these kitties thrive and their sweet nature evolves. For example, she may still flinch at the slightest motion or take flight when a guest rings the doorbell. But on a quiet evening when everyone is gathered around watching a movie, she’s totally cool.
These are the shy cats; the ones who skitter away from new people. Yes, she might hide under the bed at first, while watching everything go on around her. However, with the right fit – the loving adopter who is willing to grant her time and patience – Raine will provide years of loyalty to the human that saves her.
