Ralphy is a 9 year old senior Shepherd Mix in need of a foster or adopter. We were contacted to help Ralphy after Ralphy’s "so called person" requested to have him euthanized for no good reason. If that was not enough, this person tied the rope that was around his neck to a door knob in the waiting room at a vet practice in Long Island, walked out the door leaving poor Ralphy helpless, nervous, scared and confused. The staff were shocked seeing him left alone. We were so sad f ... or Ralphy after hearing how his person just left him there crying, we could not say no to helping him. He is presently safe in boarding In long island while he waits for a loving family. We had a trainer come to meet Ralphy to do an evauation so we would get a better understanding of him, giving him the best opportunity to find the right family. The trainer said he is basically a good boy, a well behaved senior who seems to have a nice attitude despite how unloved he was. When he was food tested he did growl but did not lunge. Our trainer stated that Ralphy has some food guarding issues. In boarding he doesn’t mind the dogs, he doesn’t bark or try to get at any one of them. He doesn’t even seem to mind the grumpy cat. He is a pretty easy going senior. We have reason to believe poor Ralphy was in an abusive home. We are hoping that things will now change for Ralphy giving him the opportunity to have a Second Chance in his life, filled with days of love. Ralphy deserves the comforts and security of a loving home. It truly is sad that he was abused. Ralphy walks nicely when going for walks. He keeps his kennel neat. He is neutered and current on his vetting. He goes in his kennel without a fuss. He just needs a supportive understanding home. Children should be older and respectful. A meet and greet would be best making sure Ralphy gets along with another fur-friend. We truly want to see Ralphy happy. To think a helpless innocent dog like Ralphy spent days where he was treated so wrong. Who can help this boy out and turn his luck around by offering him a home. Please apply to foster or adopt Ralphy.
