Reagan is having such a good time in his foster home that he didn't want to sit still for his photo to be taken, so we'll settle for these beautiful action shots! Reagan has been in his foster home for almost 2 weeks and is doing fantastic! Reagan has gained some much needed weight, gets along wonderfully with the resident weims, has great house manners, and is an all around sweet, loving, good boy! Reagan is about 4-5 years old and would make a great addition to almost any family! If interested in adopting Reagan, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Yesterday was an exciting day for Reagan! He has successfully completed heartworm treatment and moved to a foster home! Reagan is 4 years old and was surrendered to a Louisiana shelter by his owner because he was heartworm positive. Fortunately for Reagan, WRS was contacted and we were able to give him the care that his owner refused to. Reagan is a sweet, affectionate, well behaved boy and we're looking forward to getting updates from his foster family. If interesting adopting Reagan, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Weimaraners. We love them because they're beautiful, intelligent, athletic, and incredibly affectionate. But, let's be honest; these dogs definitely have their fair share of quirks! Check out Reagan, as he has a nice drink of water; he insists on pushing his nose into the side of the bowl. Doesn't matter the shape or size of the bowl, he just has an interesting way of drinking!

Reagan is doing well with his heartworm treatment; it's been a long road to recovery for him, but he's almost there. He will be ready for a foster or forever home in about 3 weeks. If interested, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Reagan needs your pawsitive thoughts, prayers, and support. He's currently undergoing heartworm treatment and is struggling with the confinement period of his treatment. Reagan is a high energy boy who doesn't understand why no one will let him run and play. Unfortunately, that kind of activity could cause life-threatening complications. Reagan was surrendered by his owner to a Louisiana shelter; we know from his records that Reagan had tested heartworm positive for three years and didn't receive any treatment. Reagan is now receiving excellent vet care and WRS is doing everything we can to keep him as calm and relaxed as possible.

Sweet Reagan started his heartworm treatment today; please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Reagan was surrendered by his previous owner to a Louisiana shelter with records; we know that Reagan first tested heartworm positive three years ago and his owner never treated him. Please, if you are not going to be a responsible dog owner and use heartworm preventative, don't get a dog. To allow Reagan's condition to go untreated all that time is inhumane. WRS is doing everything we can to help Reagan get through his heartworm treatment as safely and as comfortably as possible. It will be a long, expensive process, but we're committed to this boy's health and well-being.

Please welcome our newest rescue to WRS, Reagan! Reagan is a 5 year old, heartworm positive male who comes to us from a Louisiana animal control. Reagan is a sweet, happy boy who loves toys and doesn't like cats. He will undergo heartworm treatment before he can be adopted to his forever home, but the good news is that he is now safe. Reagan is the sixteenth Weimaraner that WRS has taken in this year and the sixth one that has heartworms. April is Heartworm Awareness Month and WRS will be dedicating our Well-being Wednesdays posts to all aspects of heartworm disease. Simply check out our Facebook page
