Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Reese is a 2 1/2 year old GSD. She came into our rescue after living in a home with a Lab and a Shih Tzu. She is very dog social. She met our highly energetic Golden and they were an instant hit. She's a gorgeous GSD who is an option to join other dogs in her new home or to go to doggy day camp or the dog park. She is not over the top energetic but she has energy and she would make a great companion for someone who wants a hiking, biking or running partner.
Reese is as people social as she is dog social. She is also going to be a good watch dog instinctively. She barks when it's appropriate but she's not a nuisance barker. She is accustomed to living in the house. Her previous owners say she is housetrained and crate trained. She was turned into us because her previous owner had too many dogs and not enough time. She had a baby and now another one on the way and Reese needs more time and attention than her owner felt like she could give her. Reese was good with the baby. However we will be looking for a home that has children over the age of 7.
Reese knows how to sit, stay, shake and much more...She is highly intelligent as most GSD's are and she's got a great temperament.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
