Remy is a sweet and affectionate dog who is very devoted to his people, learns quickly, and wants to please. He would love to be a lap dog, if you’d let him, and likes to snuggle by your feet or lay his head on your lap when its family couch time. Remy is currently being fostered with 3 other dogs and 2 cats, and does well with them all. He loves to run and play with his foster siblings, and is always up for a game of fetch or Frisbee, or playing chase in the backyard with the other dogs. He is really good with cats too, he just sniffs them and will go about his business not bothering them.
Remy is about 3 years old and weighs 70 lbs, and is some mix of Hound and Doberman. He’s an active dog who loves to go for walks, and will sniff the country air to locate squirrels. He is curious about deer, but has come to accept them as part of the scenery in his neighborhood. Remy walks well on leash with his pack, but can be reactive on leash when it comes to dogs he doesn’t know. His foster parents are working with him on his training to address the issue, and his new owner will need to continue that training to learn how to manage his behavior. He can work through the leash issues, but a quiet neighborhood with less foot traffic is probably the best fit for him right now.
He’s only been in his foster home a few weeks and is doing great with his training. He already knows many basic commands, like sit, stay, and lay down, and is doing well and enjoying the company of the other dogs in the home. He has a couple favorite toys he loves to carry around with him in the house, and is a big fan of stuffed animals and rope toys.
Remy is an awesome dog with good house manners, and would be find with kids, dogs, and cats in the home. He needs some work on his leash walking skills, and will do well with an experienced owner who is used to managing a strong, active dog. A home with a fenced yard and other dogs to romp with would be ideal.
