Dog's Name: Rico Martin
Estimated Breed : Min pin Mix
Approximate Age: 1yr
Approximate Weight: 32lbs
Currently Living at: Boarding
Adoption Fee: $300
Say hello to Rico Martin! You can tell by his picture that he is Mr. Personality! He is super happy, always smiling, and loves to be around most people. Rico is a great size for any home as long as there is someone to give him lots of hugs and kisses. This super guy will benefit from some patient training and would do best in a dog savvy home (probably a bit too much for first timer). He is highly affectionate and super playful. He adores young playful dogs but is fearful of large dominant dogs. He also loves to hug his teddy bear and has eyes that will melt your heart!! Is there room in your home for this happy pup? he wont do well with small children that would grab at him quickly.
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
