Rico had a very rough start to his young life. He was put in an attic and left alone for days at a time. He was extremely thin and had sores on his body from living in his own waste. When his situation was known, his owner was convinced to give him up, but then his new owner lost his home and was not able to find a place he could take Rico. In spite of all of this, Rico is a very friendly Pit Bull who enjoys the company of other dogs, but plays a bit rough for small dogs. He knows some of his basic commands and is learning more. He wants to be a good dog and enjoys being praised for doing well. Rico weighs 53 lbs. and is about a year old. His estimated DOB is Aug. 19, 2015. He was recently neutered, microchipped and updated on all of his vaccinations. He is also on a heartworm preventive. This boy loves to be around people and is a happy dog when he is with people. He is also learning household etiquette; what is and is not allowed and also that his “bathroom” is outside. He is making good progress in all areas. Rico is not food or toy aggressive and has been good around older children. His ideal home would have a safe fenced yard and active owners who will continue his training and make him part of the family.
