8/15/16 – Hooray! I have finished my heart worm treatment and now after 80 days of no playing, running, jumping or long walks, I am free to be a boxer! I love to take walks and my foster mom says I do pretty well if I wear my harness. I have the cutest smooshed in nose, but do not tolerate this Florida humidity well. Foster mom keeps my walks on the shorter side for now, so I can breathe OK. I am happy being the only dog, so I don’t have to share my cuddle time with anyone else. I am also learning to play and currently do no have much of interest in chew toys. I like to lay down and get comfy on the couch and also on my foster mom’s bed pillows and fleece blankets. I like to sleep in as mom gets ready for work. I am ready for my forever home! Who is ready for me?
Rock is adjusting well into his new foster home. He was neutered and is receiving treatment for an ear infection. Currently he likes to chill in the house and has not shown much interest in chew toys or bones. Probably for the first time in his life, he got to sleep in a human bed and cuddle with a person. He follows his foster mom all over the house making sure he doesn’t miss anything. Rock also walked well on a leash when he went outside. More to come as this boy continues to heal and begins his heart worm treatment.
Rock is a handsome boy who needs a lot of TLC. He did not have the best start in life, but we plan on changing that so he can be a well loved, happy kind of guy. Rock was used as a stud (breeder) dog, so he will do best with female dogs only. He lived outside during the summer and in a barn in the winter. He will also be getting treated for heartworms in the near future. Needless to say, Rock is extremely happy to be part of BRAF. Despite his bad start in life, Rock is a lovable guy who loves to jump up to greet you and give wet sloppy kisses. Rock is crate trained, but he does need to learn basic manners and housebreaking 101.
