Name: Romeo Breed: Rottweiler/lab mix
Approximate Age: 1-2 years old
Approximate Weight: 50-60 lbs
Currently Living at: an overcrowded rural shelter -- Romeo needs a forever home ASAP!!
Meet Romeo! He is a 1-2 year old male rottie mix. As you can see, the poor guy has had a rough time of it, and probably has been wandering on his own for a while. He definitely needs some love and TLC! :( Through no fault of his own, Romeo finds himself stuck in a rural, overcrowded shelter with not much of a chance for life. In spite of the tough time he's had, Romeo is a friendly and loving boy, who is hoping you'll help him get out of the shelter and start a new, better life with someone who really loves him and wants to add a loving family member to their lives!
Romeo says...Hi there, everyone! They call me Romeo, and though I look a little rough now, they say that I'm just the most handsome, sweetest boy!! Do you have room in your heart and home for a pup like me? I have a beautiful black coat with tan accents that's smooth and super-soft…great for everyone to pet me (hint hint). :-) I weigh about 50-60 pounds (not too big), which makes me a perfect size for an apartment, house or condo!! They say I am probably some sort of rottie/lab mix…all I know is that I'm a happy pup and I love to play, get lots of pets, and give lots of doggie kisses!
Read below for more info on Romeo, and email ASAP if you are interested in him!
Romeo says...I don't know why, but somehow I ended up in this scary shelter. It's a pretty scary place. I don't get to go outside, it gets really really loud when new dogs come in (which happens all the time), and no one comes to visit me. So I get more and more scared here. I really hope I can get out of here really soon!
Don't you think I would look really cute as your new Facebook cover photo, romping around in the sunshine and rolling in the autumn leaves? And how I'd love to snuggle up by you while we relax inside after a day of fun adventures. I just really want to run, play, then snuggle, nap and dream of all the adventures we'll have together. I would just LOVE trips to the dog park and hikes in the woods -- I love to discover new things!
Sweet Romeo makes friends with everyone he meets. At around 1-2 years old, he is past the baby puppy phase (no all-night crying or bathroom breaks every 2 hours!) but like any dog, still needs lots of exercise to stay happy and healthy.
Romeo's new person or family will need to make sure he gets lots of socialization and playtime with other dogs and people to keep up the good social skills he has already! And like all dogs we adopt out, he'll need to go to obedience classes to build a strong bond with his people, and help him become a well behaved companion or family member. Romeo seems to like all the people he meets, and can't wait to wiggle his way into your heart and home.
Like most young dogs, Romeo might need a refresher on his house training when he gets to a new home. He will also need to go to obedience school so he can continue to be a well-socialized dog!
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and e-mail it to at Sheila at ASAP!
