Hey remember us? It's Roscoe and Myra and we are still looking for our purrfect forever home, we are now 16 1/2 months old. Our foster parents say we are perfect and would love for us to stay but we are isolated from the other cats in the home and deserve a home of our very own where we can run and play freely. When we were about 6 weeks old we was rescued from a neighboring animal control that had been bombarded with kitties that were brought in. It was a very sad day for our foster parents when we tested positive for feline leukemia virus (Felv). You would never know it though because we are two of the happiest kitties you will ever meet and can live a full normal life. We have to be kept indoors in a cat free home or with other Felv cats. If a problem occurs we will need vetted sooner than later and we are on a daily vitamin supplement. Feline leukemia is a disease that only affects cats. It can not be transmitted to people, dogs or other animals. Felv is passed from one cat to another through saliva, blood and to some extent, urine and feces. This virus does not live long outside of the cats body, probably just a few hours. Grooming and fighting seem to be the most common ways for infection to spread. Kittens contract the disease in the uterus or through an infected mothers milk as Roscoe and Myra were. Now let's get back to talking about the good stuff. We are the sweetest most loving kitties you will ever meet. We get along wonderfully with dogs and our best friend is our foster brother, a 70# lab mix. We love to play with toys and our scratch tree and are litter box trained. Roscoe is a very handsome gray and white young man and his sister Myra is a beautiful calico. They have been neutered and spayed, flea treated, dewormed and are up to date on vaccinations. If you would like more information, would like to meet them, or would like to adopt them and make them a permanent member of your family email email@example.com for an adoption application. We are fostered in West Milford WV and our adoption fee is $50 each. We are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together.

Pet Helpers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster based volunteer rescue located in Fairmont, WV. We do adopt out of state to approved applicants, if you are willing to drive to WV to pick up your pet. We do not fly or use transport companies. Our adoption fee is $150.00 for mixed breed puppies and adult dogs, $225.00 for full blooded puppies and adult dogs and $50.00 for cats and kittens. Regardless if the animal is a mixed breed or full blooded they are spayed/neutered prior to adoption IF they are old enough. If they are too young at the time of adoption, then it is your financial responsibility to spay/neuter the pet by the age of 6 months and you must provide proof for our files that it has been done. All of our pets are checked by a vet, given the shots appropriate for their age and any other treatment deemed necessary by the vet. All of our pets are adopted as indoor pets and are not be outdoors tied to a box 24/7. The pet you are adopting has been living in a home with a foster family. You are expected to take possession of the pet you are applying for within a few days of application approval. This will enable us to accept another pet into that home. Because we are a rescue, and believe that spaying and neutering is crucial in stopping the reproduction of unwanted puppies/kittens and massive amounts of animals dying daily in shelters across the country, we expect any animal already in your home to be spayed/neutered. If for any reason you are unable to keep the pet you have adopted you are required to return them to Pet Helpers, Inc. They are not to be sold or given away.
