Roscoe-the goofy grinnin', chair sittin', smartest pup you'll ever meet! Roscoe thinks he's hilarious when he pulls up a seat and politely sits in it, seemingly saying, "Come on! Take a load off! That laundry can wait for later because right now we need to sit in a chair and be together." Roscoe thinks nothing is better than having his head petted. He suffered from chronic ear infections and pain, but has finally gotten rid of them in his foster home. Ear massages, head pets and all over rubs make Roscoe one happy boy. Don't stop though because he'll nudge your hand until you resume your love. This medium-energy dog is happy to sit near you and be loved, or to romp around with toys in his mouth. Nice long walks (which are super easy since he hardly pulls at all) are the way to Roscoe's heart. Roscoe much prefers the company of adults over children since he can be a little insistent about petting and accidentally knock over a kiddo. He also thinks that he's the only dog you need in his life, so he'd rather not make dog friends. But he's been living successfully in his foster home with cats! It should be noted that Roscoe has tested positive for heartworms. It's a treatable condition, and the cost is covered by APA! donors! You can read about heartworm treatment here: http://www.austinpetsalive.org/heartworms/ This playful, sweet guy's eyes say "Love, Love, Love!" Won't you get a chair ready at home and then come look in his eyes and see the love just waiting for you?
All APA adoptions come with free behavior assistance through APA's behavior team. And remember, when you adopt a dog from APA, you are saving not one, but two lives - the life of the dog you're bringing into your home, and the next dog APA can save in the adopted dog's place.
